Chakra is a Sanskrit word which means spinning, wheel or vortex. They store energy in the subtle body and distributes it into the gross body. The openness and flow of energy through our chakras determines our state of health and balance. Each of our seven chakras has a corresponding color that’s synonymous with colors of the rainbow as depicted in the the diagram below:
Starting from red which is the base or root chakra where our two legs meet, then moving up to orange below the navel, then yellow above the navel, then green around the heart, blue at the throat, indigo or dark purplish-blue for the third eye between the eyebrows, and violet for the crown of the head. They radiate from the back of the spine to the front of the body. The color of a chakra indicates our current physical, emotional, and spiritual state. They are dynamic according to our spiritual and physical state, which means that when we are well, the colours are stronger and when we are ill and weak, the various colours fades a bit. This is why colour therapy helps, in that, one can either sit in abstract meditation and visualize each of the corresponding colours being filled up in each chakra or one can get those colours in the form of various coloured items and shine a flashlight through them facing the position of each chakra at the front of the body, to charge them up that way. Or simply sing along to the Hare Krishna maha mantra which George Harrison also included in the famous song My Sweet Lord, which does much more than just balancing the chakras. Constipated or simply need an affordable and effective colon cleanse?? Organic edible castor oil is a sure remedy.
For a colon cleanse, take a tablespoon, followed immediately with a glass/cup of warm water. 1/2 hr -45 mins later, drink another cup of warm water, first thing in the morning before eating. Few drops of lemon juice can be added to the water.
One hour after the last glass of water, you can eat as normal. Do this on your day-off, as it will activate the bowels for at least a few hours. Rehydrate with coconut water or appropriate liquids, during the day. Take as an when needed, but not too close together. Once every 2-3 months is sufficient. To maintain bowel lubrication and thus relive constipation, take a teaspoon only, last thing at night, at least two hours away from last meal. It aids good sleep also and promotes longevity as well.
To cite the innumerable health benefits of castor oil here, I would have to write an entire book. Use it externally as well, as warm packs, on any affected area. First warmed oil, placed on cotton, then a piece of cling film or plastic to cover, then hot water bottle on top for twenty minutes, minimum. Always use a fresh pack each time.
For the digestive system:
Instant relief for heartburn, acid-reflux, indigestion or gas. Mix one teaspoon of baking soda/bicarbonate of soda in a glass of warm water, then add half an organic lemon and drink minimum one hour, up to two hours even better, after eating. Do not drink with meals, as with or too close to eating, it will neutralise stomach acids needed to breakdown foods. It can be taken regularly to alkalize the body.
Something to rinse all vegetables and fruits, though there are other brands on the market.
